The netbook is much more geared for what students need to do in the classroom.

Re: Live

Check out Dragon Dictation for the iPad (http://www.dragonmobileapps.... At the college where I work, almost all our rooms have SMART Sympodia (Sympodiums?). And like you mentioned on a podcast, often those are under-used. However use of the Airliner began to take off when we began to offer ECHO 360 capture tools to the faculty. Some are using other drawing tablets, but the SMART Notebook fits this niche very well for us.

Re: Ning shuts down its free network service: What are the alternatives?

Here's another article with some resources. http://www.readwriteweb.com...

Re: Ning shuts down its free network service: What are the alternatives?

Tech Crunch has an article up about some others: Groups.ps and Grouply. My first criticism is that for being a real time collaboration tool, it doesn't seem to notify me very well when there is something new. Also, I can't seem to find any way to find out if someone that I want to collaborate with is online. I'm not sure maybe I'm just not quite understanding how it is supposed to function yet.

Re: Podcast Episode 07 – We’re Back!

Haven't had a chance to listen yet, but I will get to it this weekend. My initial impression's of google wave is I have been underwhelmed. They have a lot of work to do on it and I think they released it way to early. I still need to play with it more to see how I would use it to get things done with it.

Re: Podcast Episode 07 – We’re Back!

Thanks Jeff. And if that's the case, you've then opened yourself to a whole ecosystem of interconnected technologies. I would agree though, it needs connectivity like a palm pre not like a palmpilot.

Re: Microsoft Courier: A Kindle, Ipod Touch and Netbook all in one

Assuming this will ever come out, it's the philosophy that is still wrong - creating more information island instead of just concentrate on organizing information. and adding to it. Students can't get onto the Adult grid but have their own grid where it is more stringent. It is a fantastic tool for PD and it is a shame that it is not used more. They are also working on making it harder for adult content to make it on every sim. I am not a gamer and definitely recommend it. It has increased my knowledge and helped my teaching.

Re: Podcast Episode 03 - Smart or Dumb Boards?

Kevin,
I think we are going to talk about the results on our next episode.
